THE NEW VIRTUAL MAKEOVER TECHNOLOGY

How It Works

This device allows the user to test their desired make up item in the Try On mirror.
The replica image of the make up item, once it has been scanned, is stored and overlaid with the picture of the user. The reflected image offers a digital look with the chosen lipstick or eyeliner shade giving a completely real look.

The following were used to make the smart mirror:

  • A screen

  • A mirror

  • A Raspberry Pi with casing + micro USB power cord

  • A SD-card (16 GB)

  • Wood frame (boards, screw, glue, paint, drill)

  • HDMI-to-HDMI-adapter (depending on if your screen has HDMI or not)

  • A mouse and a keyboard with USB

  • A computer

In the Raspberry Pi, using the pre-installed WiFi module, we send API requests to PixLab Studios which processes the image and sends the URL of the processed image back to us, which we hence, download and then display. The API detects the landmarks of the user's face and places the lipstick shades or eyeliner on it, accordingly.
